Each piece created for Kopavi takes form within the familiar surroundings of the Hopi home. Using materials provided by Kopavi, the artists draw upon Hopi environment, ceremonial life and ancient spiritual beliefs for their unique designs.

 

Commissioned by Kopavi, the Kopavi-Fluteplayer is an original design by Hopi Bear Clan member Delbridge Honanie. The Kopavi –Fluteplayer hallmark (#1,106,615) registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office on November 21, 1978 can only be stamped on Native American handmade jewelry.

Both the hallmark of the Hopi Silversmith and the Kopavi – Fluteplayer are stamped in each piece of jewelry that is made for Kopavi and is guarantee of authentic handcrafted Hopi Native American jewelry.

The Kopavi Fluteplayer is included under Guild Hallmarks in the book Hopi Silver, The History and Hallmarks of Hopi Silversmithing by Margaret Wright.
